My practice centres around an immersive exploration of nature’s hidden forms and the spaces they create. After graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in 2020 with a degree in sculpture and environmental art, I continued to develop my skills as a self-taught jeweller, driven by a passion for observing growth, movement, and transformation in the natural world. I draw inspiration from the intertwining lines, shapes, and textures around us, translating these forms into both sculptural pieces and wearable art through my jewellery brand, nuklbug.
In my sculptural work, I examine how the body navigates and interprets natural spaces. By dissecting forms found in plants, trees, and other organic structures, I map and recreate these elements in ways that echo human qualities and reflect our own behaviours and interactions with space. Working with materials such as wood, metal, and various casting media, I engage in a process-driven, experimental approach that brings out the inherent qualities of each material. This meditative practice fosters a dynamic relationship between maker and medium, allowing the material itself to guide my creative process.
With my jewellery work in nuklbug, I bring these inspirations into wearable art, crafting pieces that reflect the movement, structure, and individuality of nature. Working with 925 silver, I create designs that blend sculptural aesthetics with organic form, honouring the beauty of natural textures and shapes.
